Locally based Seaside Builders has proposed a high-end housing development in Delray Beach. The Tropics of Delray would offer a total of 34 units: 16 condos in a four-story building and 18 townhomes divided between three six-story buildings.
According to the South Florida Business Journal, the condos would measure 2,405 to 3,690 square feet, while the townhomes would be slightly smaller, spanning 2,274 to 2,373 square feet. Thomas D. Laudani of Seaside Builders told media outlets that homes will start in the low $2 millions, although this could fluctuate as the development draws closer to completion.
Communal amenities at the Tropics of Delray could include two swimming pools, a fitness center, children’s playground, and 129 parking spots––although there will be a two-car garage for every unit. Currently, the 3.08-acre site is home to an 8,656-square-foot building once occupied by a restaurant and a 14,875-square-foot Badcock Home Furniture store.
Seaside Builders currently owns the build site, having assembled the parcel for $9.5 million in 2022. Delray Beach’s Planning and Zoning Board considered the site plan on July 15th. Pending approval, the venture could start construction by the end of this year. GE Architects designed the upscale complex.
The Tropics of Delray could get approval for 2400 and 2410 N. Federal Highway, Delray Beach, FL, 33483, in Palm Beach County.
